Common questions

“We couldn't find a face” appears
Choose a photo where the face is clearly visible, facing the camera and not too small. Very dark or heavily blurred photos may not work.
“There is not enough room above the head or below the chin” appears
The photo is cut too close to the head or chin to fit the rule. Take it again a little further from the camera, with space above the head and down to the shoulders.
The check shows items out of the rules (✕) or warnings (!)
Open the check to see each item. “How to Take It” has six tips for a clear photo. The check is a guide using fixed rules; some things, such as hats and masks, are for you to check by eye.
Will my photo be accepted?
We cannot promise that. Whether a photo is accepted is decided by where you submit it, and rules can change. Check the latest guidance from where you submit. The pages the App's rules were checked against are in Settings → Sources of the Rules.
Why can't I save for the Common Test?
Photos edited by apps cannot be used for the Common Test for University Admissions, so the App only checks the photo and neither crops nor saves it. Register your original photo on the application site as it is. This check does not count toward the free daily limit.
Printing at a convenience store or a print service
Save the L-size print sheet, then add it yourself to the print service's app or site (the image is sent to that service and handled under its rules). Choose the L size and turn off enlarging and cropping. After printing, check with a ruler that the scale is 10 mm. Print on photo paper; some offices, such as for driver's licenses, accept only photo paper.
I can't take a photo with the camera (iPhone)
Open Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera and turn on Yasashii ID Photo.
I can't save to Photos (iPhone)
Open Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos → Yasashii ID Photo and allow adding photos.
Where are my saved images? (Android)
In the Pictures/YasashiiIDPhoto folder. They appear in Google Photos and other gallery apps.
I changed my phone or reinstalled the app
Open Settings and tap “Restore Purchase”, using the same Apple Account (iPhone) or Google account (Android) you bought with. On Android the purchase usually comes back on its own.
Refunds
Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com; for Google Play purchases, by Google (see Google Play Help). If you need help, contact us.
Are my photos uploaded?
