Privacy Policy
Effective: October 19, 2026
This policy explains how the app “Yasashii ID Photo” (the “App”), provided by Kenichi Kasuya, an independent developer (the “Developer”), handles information.
1. Our approach
The App cuts your photo to the rules of an ID photo and checks it entirely on your device (iPhone or Android). No account is needed, and your photos never leave your device. The Developer collects no information about you.
2. Information we do not collect
- We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number or any account.
- Your photos and the ID photos you make are not sent to the Developer or to any server.
- The App contains no analytics, advertising-network or tracking SDKs, and does not track you across apps or websites.
3. Photos and face information
When you choose or take a photo, the App does the following on your device:
- It finds the face and the position of facial features (eyes, nose, mouth, face outline), expression values (such as whether the eyes are closed or the mouth is open) and which way the face is turned, using Google's MediaPipe face landmark model bundled in the App.
- It separates the person from the background (to find the top of the head, including the hair, and the background), with Apple's Vision, part of iOS, on iPhone, and with Google's MediaPipe segmentation model (Selfie Multiclass) bundled in the App on Android.
- From the photo's file it reads the date taken, the orientation and whether it is mirrored (on iPhone, also the name of the lens), to check the date and left–right reversal.
This information is used only to cut the photo to the rules and check it (and, for purposes without rules such as a résumé, to replace the background). It is kept in memory while you edit, is never saved to a file, never sent off the device, never used to identify a person or for advertising, and is discarded when you choose another photo or close the App. The App does not judge your looks, age or skin color.
The App reads only the photo you choose in the system photo picker, which needs no permission to read your other photos, and the photo you take with the camera. On iPhone, the system asks for camera permission the first time you take a photo, and the photo you take is not added to your library. On Android, the App asks your camera app to take the photo, keeps it in the App's temporary storage only until it is read, and then deletes it; the App has no camera permission.
To save an image, on iPhone the App asks permission to add photos to your library; on Android it saves the image to the Pictures/YasashiiIDPhoto folder, which needs no storage permission. Saved images carry no photo information (no location, device model or date taken). Your original photo is not modified. When you use the share screen, the image goes only to the destination you choose; nothing reaches the Developer. If you add an image to a print service, it is sent to that service and handled under its rules.
4. Data stored on your device
The App stores only the number of images saved today and the date (for the free daily limit), in its own storage on your device. It is never sent off the device, and deleting the App deletes it. Photos, face information, the person cut-out and the results of the check are not stored.
5. Purchases
The one-time purchase is processed by Apple through the App Store on iPhone, and by Google through Google Play on Android. The Developer does not receive your payment details. The App checks your purchase on the device with Apple (StoreKit) or Google Play Billing; no purchase information is sent to the Developer.
6. Network
The App itself does not communicate over the network. Purchases and restoring purchases are handled by the system: on iPhone by Apple's App Store through StoreKit, and on Android by Google Play through the Play Store app on your device (the Android version has no internet permission).
The ads shown in the App are promotions for the Developer's own apps (the Papertime notebook and the other Yasashii apps). Their images and text are included in the App; no ad network is used and no data is sent. Tapping an ad for a Yasashii app opens its page in the App Store or Google Play. The links to the sources of the rules and to these pages open in your browser, under each site's own policy.
7. Children
The App does not ask children for any personal information. Parents can manage purchases with Screen Time and Ask to Buy on iPhone, or with purchase approvals in Google Family Link on Android.
8. Changes
If we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page and announce important changes in the App.
